After the kickstarter ended I took a look at how I was going to produce the world that the players were going to explore. At first it was going to be pretty expensive. Drawn backgrounds and maybe 3-5 for each area.

Sure... I could just make a crazy and amazing pure-text based back end. It would do everything that was claimed but just not feel good. I still needed artwork.

Then I started to play an RPG made by RPG Maker. Then I saw the obvious. "Nothing is more deceiving than the obvious truth."

Use tile sets to create the areas that can be explored.

This would allow me to create as many towns, castles and people as needed as long as I have the tile set theme for it.

What's even better? You'll be able to walk around town and build new buildings in empty areas in an RPG fantasy world. Won't be cheap though. You will need money in the magnitudes of corporations. Why? You could be running something like that.

Don't w the balance of the RPG portions. Or rather we expect and desire to try it. How you make your money makes an impact on the story. Particularly the financial shortcuts you take to your money making empire.

Laying Down the Foundations

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to give you all an update at what's going on at Sakura River Interactive.

Currently we're in the process of becoming a proper business. And by proper I mean mostly same as before but we'll still chase after the crazy concepts that we always have been doing. Only now we won't be doing it under a shoestring budget. It's just a lot of work to make sure everyone gets paid properly and everyone is on the same page.

Also we're working getting Steam achievements attached to Fading Hearts and other future games. Just in-cause you're wondering what icon is about.

Visiting GDC 2014

Hi everyone!

Just want to give everyone a heads up on what's going on currently. Also I know I should be writing more often. I know I have been tweeting but that's not really enough now is it?

A hyper quick summary first off. I am heading to the Game Developer's Conference to visit (no booth). We are working on next patch on Fading Hearts. Next project is already underway.
